Steal Her Style – Outfit Inspiration
Here at Style Doctors we help you create a style that is unique to you and works with your everyday lifestyle, body shape and budget. However, that doesn’t mean that from time to time it’s not ok to look at others to ‘steal her style’.
Whether it’s the stylish girl that catches the same train as you in the morning (how does she look that good everyday?) or the boutique owner who always looks oh so polished. We always see people that we admire what they’re wearing and it’s often because they seem happy and confident in what they’ve got on.
Copying a look from a mannequin or out of a magazine in not necessarily recommend as clothes look completely different on a body to how they look flat or pinned on a dummy.
We do however think it’s ok to take inspiration from someone who you think is stylish and making their look work for your own body shape.
Today we are using Olivia Palermo as our inspiration. She may be a size zero however the look we’ve put together would work on all different body-types as it’s a classic look. We will never recommend anything that we can’t recreate in every size at Style Doctors.
When you try to emulate a look that’d very ‘on-trend’ or ‘of-the-moment’ it’s easy to loose sight of dressing fro your shape. We’ve all probably liked a look that’s on trend at some point but wasn’t great for our shape. Our stylist tip is to try to emulate a look that’s timeless and simple.
Rather than investing in a coat with a fur trim we suggest buying a separate shawl, stole or tippet in fur to create the same effect. This means that you can wear your fur with any of your existing coats and jackets. We love the colours in this fur shawl by Topshop and this would also look great with any coat in your wardrobe. If you’re going for a printed coat, keep it tonal. This faint animal print will last more than one season and will look great teamed-up with the fur.
Not sure if you’re ready for leather trousers? Leather look jeans or very black denim will do the same thing.
It’s all about the small details with this classic look from the over-sized sunglasses to the just polished nails. The new Christian Louboutin nail colour would add a splash of colour to this palette.
Keep it tonal, keep it simple, add texture and a few luxe pieces are our stylist tips.
