Steal Elin’s Style – Outfit Inspiration

Having a strong sense of personal style, the ability to experiment with different silhouettes, understanding your colours, knowing how to accessorise, being able to be experimental with your style personality is a skill everyone should ideally have but it’s a MUST as a personal stylist.

If you follow our CEO, Elin on her social channels you will see that she has an eclectic style personality and transitions from cool and edgy to chic and sleek with ease.

“I ALWAYS plan my outfits in advance and have everything ready the night before. Not only does this save time but it also means that I don’t forget about the small details such as accessories.”

I consciously try to maximise what’s in my wardrobe and the best way to do that is to think about which look I’m trying to convey and most importantly what I’m doing. If I know I’m going to be running around, I’ll always have on something practical (and always comfortable shoes!) If I know I’m going to be indoors all day, I won’t wear a big jacket and might wear a slight heel.

“My tip is dress for your life! It seems obvious but lots of people buy things for a small part of their lives such as going out or attending a wedding.”

I buy clothes that are multi use, fit with my lifestyle and that I’m happy to wear everyday. I never save for best and keep rotating items to ensure that the cost per wear is low. Granted, I can’t sleep thinking about outfit combinations (sad and bad, I know!) but I do recommend that ALL my clients plan ahead. If you feel good everyday, that really helps your self confidence and productivity.

This look was for a day at the office and being in and out of meetings. A classic white blazer is a must-have in any wardrobe and is timeless and worth investing in. White and cream look great together and the knitted cami is a good all year round staple. If your aim is to look chic, choose a soft palette and add metallic accessories to ensure the outfit has a luxe feel.

“I don’t shop very often but when I do shop, I buy things that I know will be timeless and I’ll still love in a year.”
