Westfield Style Event
As the official styling company for Westfield Stratford, the Style Doctors team were on hand showcase the trends for summer at The Cow. We had a great turnout to see how the team translated this summers trends into wearable everyday looks.
“Most people find a change of season daunting and that’s why as a stylist, it’s great to be able to show people how all these new looks in stores can be worn in different ways. During our style presentations, we like to cover the trends but translate them into wearable, everyday looks” says Style Doctors stylist Elin Mai.
The key looks we showcased on the evening were: Sports Luxe, Colour Pop, Ballet, Denim, Soft Pastels and the Seventies. Elin Mai and Leena along with the trusty backstage team with the help of our lovely model showed the audience how to mix and match everything they saw.
For this trend we went for this stunning jumpsuit from Karen Millen and paired it with a pink and red heel for an added pop.
“A jumpsuit is a great alternative to a dress for special occasions and this colour works on so many different skin-tones. The added bonus of the jumpsuit is that it can easily be dressed up or down and because of the length, can be paired with both flats and heels. This would even look great with your favourite leather jacket” says Style Doctors stylist Leena.
The catwalks were full of this trend and we decided to showcase a work-wear inspired print clash look.
“The trick is to pair a stripe with a floral print. Keeping to a black and white stripe helps act as a base that can almost be worn with any floral” says Style Doctors stylist Evelina.
We paired this classic striped shirt with this floral skirt (Ted Baker) for the perfect desk to dance-floor look.
This trend is usually associated with denim and suede and we went for a suede jacket but teamed it up with this striped dress for a different take on the seventies look.
“You can really go to town with the seventies look but we wanted to show how you can pair down this look with a classic striped dress. Just by adding some key seventies details (the bag, the jacket and the hat), we show how you can immediately even transform something you already own” says Style Doctors stylist Brooke.
