Autumn/Winter Harvey Nichols Trunk Show
We recently attended a Trunk Show for Autumn/Winter 2019 at Harvey Nichols in conjunction with ELLE. In an intimate setting within the Knightsbridge store, models walked down the mirrored catwalk in an array of outfits for the upcoming season. From wearable winter coats to fashion forward PU skirts, there was something for every style personality.
Where better to start than the firm faithful, the winter coat. We saw models coming down in tones of lilac (still on trend for the winter), animal print and PU. The plastic trend started in the Spring but we’re seeing it again this winter. Probably not the most practical of fabrics with regards to warmth but great if you’re looking for a way to look stylish in the rain. Animal print is also back with a vengeance this season and we expect to be seeing a sea of leopard walking down the high street.
Pops Of Orange
It’s brighter, more acid friend was a big hit in the Summer but the old faithful, the burnt orange is making a come-back again this Autumn. This is an easy colour to wear and suits a wide variety of complexions (good news!) From leather orange trousers to subtle orange lining, we saw this shade in abundance. Whether you love it or have an aversion to it, orange WILL be everywhere. If you’re unsure, we recommend wearing an orange accessory or just opting for an item that includes an orange print.
The Metallic Trend – Fashion Forward
Metallics may not be a new trend but we’re seeing more of this futuristic palette than ever. Whether you’re a fashionista or someone who’s developing your personal style, metallics can add a touch of luxe to any wardrobe. We’ve put together a head to toe metallic looks based on a look we saw at the Trunk Show below for the more adventurous amongst you.
The Metallic Trend – Easy To Wear
If you love metallic but would never wear this trend head to toe, we’ve styled the jacket down by teaming it up with denim. This immediately makes the whole metallic trend more wearable. White looks great with all shades of metallic and white bag will off-set this look perfectly.
Black Is Back
Let’s face it, we’re not surprised that black is back but this season is glossier and sexier than ever. Think black sequins, black PU, leather and basically anything that shines! If you are a fan of black, think about what you already own before buying anything else! We see so many of our clients ending up buying items similar to what they already own because they can’t remember what’s in their wradrobe. This Autumn, look for a black item that’s a bit different such as something sequined, studded or in contrasting fabrics,
There you have it, a run-down of the key looks we saw at the Trunk Show as well as some styling inspiration for the new season. As ever, reach out to us with any style questions!
