Beauty Saver Tricks

It’s very nearly the end of summer (if you can call it that!) But what do you do if you end up in a post summer beauty crisis? You stayed too late at the party and it shows, your alarm didn’t go off and you’re running late. How are you supposed to handle that on top of everything else right now? The answer is you do it quickly and quietly. These are my favourite beauty saver tricks.

You’ve woken up with a huge mountainous pimple

Now if you’ve taken your make up off the night before and used a toner, along with drinking a litre of water before bed, this shouldn’t happen, but let’s face it, pimples can happen to the best of us, regardless of how strict your beauty regime is. My advice is apply a cube of ice over it to bring down any swelling, then take a touch of your toothpaste and gently dab on your pimple, blending it in. Wait 10 minutes before applying make up, and try not to clog it with much other than a dab of concealer.

You haven’t clocked enough Z’s and your eyes are puffy

This is a tough one and you might say “Hey that’s how I wake up every day!”, but for a quick fix, run a spoon under the cold tap, or better yet, pop it in the freezer for a few minutes. Place it over each eye as soon as its cooled and count to 100. If this doesn’t work, you can always dab a touch of Yves Saint Laurent Touché Éclat, it’s a miracle under eye concealer that will hide bags and dark circles, so if you don’t have one in your beauty kit, it’s a worthy investment for emergencies!

No time to wash your hair and you’ve got a 9am meeting

Dry shampoo, dry shampoo, dry shampoo! Section your hair and spray it on your roots from a distance. Don’t touch it for 10 minutes so it has time to work its magic, then you can turn your head upside down and rub though. Dry shampoo is a great way to add volume to your hair btw. Tie your hair in a top knot or a half knot if you want to be on trend and set with hair spray.

And off you go! I won’t tell anyone if you don’t :) Need some top beauty advice? Why not contact our hair and make-up team!
