Whether you work in finance, media or for any private company, the work-place has been going through some major changes in terms of dress-code.

Style Doctors has been working with Lexus to transform its UK workforce from the traditional motor environment attire to a more modern and approachable style of dressing. This has been done via a company wide corporate staff style guide.

Corporate Style

Style Doctors travelled to Belfast to shoot the Lexus Winter Style Guide at their showroom in the city.

The key to completing these looks was to provide a wardrobe that would allow staff to mix and match pieces they already own and still remain both on trend, approachable and empowered through their clothing.

The clothing chosen allowed them to maintain their individual style and personality show whilst also observing the company style guide in order make sure the entire work-force remains uniform and cohesive.

These new outfits, styled and selected by Style Doctors are reflective of the less formal and more creative outfits companies are wanting their staff to adopt. Modern, inspiring, comfortable and approachable.

Implementing an appropriate business style for the company has proven to be an incredible success.

Allowing staff to have the option to be more creative with their clothing in the workplace it also allows them to focus more on what is important.

A company style guide provides easy to follow tips and direction to remain in-line with the company for a cohesive image.

When dressing in a formal business environment, there are a few key concepts that you should keep in mind in to maintain both professional and fashionable wardrobe rotation.  There are a few tips and ideas that you should keep in mind that will help you to build a great work appropriate yet stylish wardrobe.

It's in the details

Interesting pieces such as this pleated skirt are a great option when wanting to develop a more creative look for work.

Notice the colours within the skirt matches the scalloped blouse, and the warmer brown tones match the earrings. Overall, the unison of colours is what draws this whole look together so harmoniously.

Always consider how useful an item will be. If you can think of 4 ways of wearing it, it’s worth buying.

Tonal outfits

Tonal dressing is wearing different pieces together that fall within the same colour family. It sounds easy to do, but there’s more to it than simply wearing one colour from head-to-toe.

There’s an art to mixing the same tone using textures, prints and solid shades in order to make each piece gel together.

Take this bold patterned green dress; pairing it with a blazer in the same colour family tones down the dress whilst still keeping this otherwise edgy item, work appropriate.

Blazer

A key piece in any wardrobe, the blazer. The blazer truly has to be one of the most versatile, bold and empowering pieces in your wardrobe. Not only can you wear them in a work environment but also (when styled in the right way) can also be worn in a more casual setting. So go ahead and buy a brightly coloured blazer to add some excitement to an otherwise ordinary look.

Accessories

When opting for a simple yet chic look like this, the key is to use accessories to add points of interest to the look. For example this beautiful dusty rose coloured dress is paired with a belt to cinch in at the waist to accentuate her curves as well as balancing with the gold and metallic in her statement earrings.

Statement jewellery is a simple way to transform a look and an often inexpensive way to upgrade your work outfits.

These earrings do a great job at tying in some more colours to the look, for example her nude pumps.
