Distressed Denim Trend

Here at Style Doctors, we cannot simply ignore trends and let us tell you – the distressed denim trend is coming full speed ahead. It’s great, too, because we believe denim is one of humankind’s greatest inventions. From labels Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Valentino and Bottega Veneta denim this year is making a fierce statement. It’s no mistaking that distressed denim is taking the London streets by storm, either. Just travel along Oxford Street and stop in at any store, like Topshop, to see the rows of denim.

The key to pulling off ripped denim is to keep it chic and polished. To avoid the ‘punk rock’ look, make sure your jeans aren’t too baggy and always to dress-up rather than dress-down. You want your look to be balanced and crisp so avoid layering of many patterns, but don’t be afraid to venture out of the neutral colours.

Team your distressed denim skinny jeans with a blazer and strappy pumps. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can also pair a printed bag or heels or a quirky top to show off your relaxed, individual style.

As we get closer to warmer weather, you can also cuff your jeans and pair with a cozy sweater or jacket. Distressed denim looks great with any shoe and makes it easy for the winter to spring transition. Aside from heels, you can also try denim with booties or the pair of flats you’ve been dying to bring out for spring.

Denim jeans are easily the most versatile piece of clothing we wear. You can dress up your favorite jeans with a blazer or dress down your jeans with a graphic tee for a day of errands.

The options are endless and it might seem a little daunting to pair casual with polished. If you are unsure about the right pair of distressed jeans, or aren’t sure how to dress up your best pair – consider booking a session with one of our personal stylists.
