How to Wear Pink

Who doesn’t love the color pink? From the lightest baby pink to the hottest magenta, pink is a color that every woman can learn how to incorporate into her daily wardrobe. Since pink was 2017’s New York Fashion Week “It” color, our stylists here at Style Doctors know how to wear pink and which shades of pink goes perfectly with your complexion, your outfit, and matches your different moods.

Pink for Different Complexions

When it comes to bright fuchsia, saturated raspberry, and hot pink, some women get overwhelmed. Spring is here, and a vibrant pink can brighten up your complexion. For fair skin tones, lean towards shades similar to coral, The warm undertones compliment pale skin. Fuchsia and hot pink are the perfect matches for women of color. These two shades have the ability to make your skin glow and look runway ready. For women between fair and dark, pink nudes as well as cotton-candy pinks are a great way to go.

Pink from Head to Toe

Don’t be discouraged! Pink from head to toe doesn’t mean looking like a stick of bubble gum. Incorporating different shades of pink or even different patterns is the best way to make this work for you. Pairing a wide legged trouser with pumps and a sleeveless duster in contrasting shades is a great way to pull off an all pink outfit without looking overly dramatic. When it comes to how to wear pink in your accessories, think minimalism. The color speaks for itself so you can opt for a velvet choker, or simple pink gemstone stud earring. You can also highlight a head-to-toe pink look with silver or gold jewelry to break up the block of color.

Different Pinks for Different Moods

Every outfit is influenced by your mood. If you’re feeling reserved or subtle, go for a blush pink in a soft texture like cashmere or cotton. Maybe you’re feeling happy and carefree, and you can try out a cotton candy shade over some distressed denim or a pleated skirt. Looking for something to channel your sultry mood? Pair a raspberry or fuchsia with some leather and stilettos.
