How To Pack A Suitcase For A Holiday Or Business Trip
Do you often over-pack a suitcase when going on a business trip or holiday? Do you always end up wearing the same pieces and regret taking all the excess garments with you? More so do you tell yourself that you won’t do the same again for your next trip?
Whether you’re off to Brussels for a business trip or New York for some new shoes there are certain rules that everyone should follow which will mean that you pack less, think less and spend less time getting ready. It’s all about the planning…
How many days will you be at your destination? Do you need both daytime and nigh time outfits? How much walking will be involved?
Shoes are heavy to carry. Do you really need four pairs of heels for a three day trip. The answer is no. People very rarely look at your feet especially if you’re going to be in a boardroom for the next three days. A simple pair of black or nude heels should work with most formal work outfits. If you’re going on a short haul flight managing to pack everything into a carry-on is a great idea and big time saver. Does this scare you? Here are some key pieces we recommend taking for a business trip.
Are you off on a beach holiday? Chances are you’ll spend 50% (if not more) of your time in a swimsuit. This should mean that you need outfits for the evening and a few day outfits. We don’t recommend taking carry-on for a two week holiday however planning ahead is also a must here. You’ll most likely be wearing sandals or flip flops for your beach days and need a comfortable sandal for your sight-seeing days and a possible heel for the evening. Think about your accessories and how these can transform your outfits.
Booked a week long city break in a stylish city? You want to make sure you look stylish but also feel comfortable. This is where planning is of the utmost importance. Items can be used again such as skirts and trousers. You don’t need a different pair of trousers for everyday!
We also recommend laying down outfits together on your bed (including shoes and accessories) and taking photos of these to remind you what you’re wearing. This will save lots of time and effort when you reach your destination. Our personal stylists will also do this when visiting your home for a Home Visit package.
Wherever you may be going, we hope you have a safe a pleasant journey!
