Meet The Stylists
On International Women’s Day, we are dedicating this post to four of Style Doctors styling team; Charlotte, Deni, Elin and Michaela.
With a 25+ strong team of stylists in the UK, we are proud to be the biggest styling company in the country and have helped style over 12,000 women, men and teenagers over the last 14 (very nearly 15 years!) With stylists in the USA and the UAE, Style Doctors will soon be celebrating 15 years in business.
Busy with one-to-one styling sessions, corporate styling workshops and style events, our stylists very rarely have time to come together. For this feature, Charlotte, Deni, Elin and Michaela came together at Westfield London to launch spring at Style Doctors. Our stylists spend the majority of their time walking around Westfield styling clients, however for this feature, they were in front of the lens for our ‘Meet The Stylists’ feature.
As Style Doctors CEO, Elin has helped grow the company into an international styling consultancy and is continually proud of Style Doctors and the team.
It’s always so nice to come together to do a shoot like this because unless we’re working on a style event or corporate workshop, we very rarely get to see each other.
“I’m very lucky to have such a talented, friendly and dynamic team of stylists at Style Doctors who all bring a wealth of experience and energy to the company”
Being a stylist looks glamorous but it’s in fact the exact opposite. On an average 4 hour session, a stylist usually covers around 4-6 miles and spends 80% of the day on their feet. That means that heels are a no-go when on style sessions and it’s nice to be able to wear these once in a while for a shoot. I spend 11 months of the year in boots and these over-the-knee Stuart Weitzman one’s proved to be very comfortable.
As well as being a stylist at Style Doctors, Deni works very closely with our corporate clients and on style events.
As a Head of Brand Partnership, I make sure that Style Doctors relationship with both our corporate clients and fashion brands stays at the top of the game.
Just like fashion, Style Doctors is constantly evolving and that’s one of things I love most about my job. One day, I can be presenting at a corporate styling workshop, the next I’m styling a teenager and the next I’m working on styling literature.
“Working with my fellow Style Doctors is always so much fun and as a team, we all get along so well.”
I think I have the best job in the world and I’m reminded of this every time I meet a client. I love meeting new people and helping clients develop a style or get out of a style rut. The best part is to see people’s confidence grow and discover their best bits and dressing for those best bits!
“Doing a photo-shoot is always great fun. Who doesn’t want to get dressed up and pretend they are in a girl band?!”
Michaela’s Look: Michaela shows us how to dress down a midi-skirt by styling it with a printed t shirt. Tucked-in, this also helps elongate her legs and the mules further add length to her frame. The high-rise, fluid midi shape works perfectly with a slouchy knit and chunky trainers in the day and cami top, blazer and mules come evening.
Charlotte’s Look: An understatedly feminine choice of daywear – pair with anything from lace-up tennis shoes to ankle boots. Charlotte has styled with snake print boots to add more texture and defined her waist with two skinny belts.
I’m so fortunate to be able to work in my dream job.
“Being a stylist isn’t just about making people look good for me. It’s more about finding a confidence within to help carry the clothes and not let the clothes wear you!”
My speciality is within menswear styling which I love and have developed a very unique skill to encourage men to spend more than 30mins in a shop and leave with more then one item!’
Elin’s Look: Checks were everywhere last season and will still feature heavily this season. Elin styled down her checked skirt with a sweater and tucked this in to help elongate the legs. The coat, cut from a masculine tailored shape, is in a muted Prince of Wales check. Detailed by an offsetting colourful line makes it perfect for the spring!
Deni’s Look: The floral maxi is given an altogether more wearable look by styling with trainers and a leather jacket. Adding a slim belt helps define the waist. This dress covered in pale blooms against a gingham background could easily be worn for a summer party or wedding.
