Our Top Trends From LFW

Only once a year do we to get experience a week of such thrilling and spectacular designs from fashion creators all over the world. It’s like Christmas time in the fashion industry, just waiting for the part when the wrapping paper is ripped off and the big reveal underneath is showcased for everyone to gasp and engross over. Trends are set forth left and right with exhilarating colors and designs that are cast into the limelight with grace and passion.

Every fashion capital has its own flavour, encompassing a different set of designs and styles with London often being one of the most creative.

London Fashion Week Trends

In comparison to previous years, this LFW seemed to be somewhat paired-back. Everything seemed to gel together and the designers appeared to be on a similar wavelength with all of the creations flooding the runways.

It was still quite a show, and no one left disappointed…Oh and of course you can bet that our team at Style Doctors paid close attention to all the trends coming through next season, keeping you well-informed.

Bold and Vibrant Prints

Even though the runways didn’t demonstrate such groundbreaking designs as previous years, we did however see hints of such expression put into prints. Some of the designs from the University of Westminster and designer Mark Fast showcased some of the biggest and boldest print couplings with contrasting colors and shapes.

Beading & Bling

It wasn’t too long ago that we mentioned embroidery was going to be back this season and it has made its debut to the runway again this year. Multiple designers included this gorgeously eye-catching feature to their collections.

Watching the models as they came down the runway at the Malan Breton show had me on the edge of my seat and hypnotized. The sparkle and the detailing was completely breathtaking with all its luxurious components – May

Shimmer and Metallics

As if the shows couldn’t get any better, the glitz and the glamor surpassed all expectations. The catwalk was filled with pieces that encompassed a modern twist on the great Gatsby, incorporating dresses with metallic tassels and other pops of colors. The textured shimmer on dresses reflected the light beautifully and in all directions as models strutted down the runway, eyes glued to them in a hypnotic fashion trance.

Bodacious Blue

The colour blue has made such a comeback this year (not that it’s ever left). As it symbolizes loyalty, wisdom, and confidence, it’s no wonder it was on the runway. Electric and royal blue highlighted looks that gave you exactly that. Designers Edeline Lee and Johnston’s of Elgin included these colors gorgeously into their fashion presentations. In Edeline Lee’s fashion display she revealed beautiful contemporary dresses while Johnston’s of Elgin incorporated electric blue knits with a play of different fabrics.

This year’s looks have been some of the most beautiful I’ve seen in a while. Styled in a way that could be appreciated by all, no matter what style you’re into.
