Wardrobe Rules For Men

As a Personal Stylist, many of the clients I see are male. If you’re umming and ahhing over whether you’re wearing the right clothes, I’m going to share with you my TOP THREE wardrobe rules for men.

  1. THE RIGHT FIT IS EVERYTHING. Most of my clients tend to buy and wear things that are too big. They are forever tugging on their sweaters and tshirts to make them look even longer, and the end result is unkempt and messy, not to mention a disproportionate looking body shape brought about via this action. You can spend a small fortune on a designer shirt, but if it doesn’t fit well, it’s going to look cheap. Equally so, you can spend a few pounds on a shirt that fits your body shape and size well, and will look stylish and expensive.
  1. DITCH THE LOGO TSHIRTS AND SWEATSHIRTS. If you’re over 30, these have no place in your wardrobe. No one is going to take you seriously in one of these, so try swapping the logo or print for a classic plain tshirt. V-necks are very flattering, as are polo shirts.
  1. NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF A GOOD SHOE. The right footwear is paramount to any stylish man’s wardrobe. It’s one of the first things that people will notice about you, and the shoes you’re wearing will have the ability to transform your image and lets face it – first impressions count!

So the bottom line is, how would you like to look? What first impression would you like to give people about yourself? Do you want to look uncoordinated comfortable and scruffy? Or would you rather look confident, relaxed and stylish? These three rules can make all the difference both in the work place and in your social life.

Great article, hopes this gives men some clarity on dressing and that it really is as simple as wearing clothes that fit properly and are classy.
