Women’s Fashion Lunch at ROKA Dubai

Style Doctors recently hosted a Fashion Lunch at ROKA in Dubai. The event was stylish and laid-back with a strong focus on women supporting women and of course, delicious food!

ROKA Dubai

ROKA is a meeting place where food and drinks are shared with friends (ro) and heat, warmth and an all-embracing energy surround (ka).

Located in the Opus building by Zaha Hadid, ROKA brings its unique style of contemporary Japanese Robatayaki cuisine and urban design to Downtown Dubai.

This is the first international location which opened shortly after the fifteenth year anniversary of the flagship restaurant on Charlotte Street in London.

We couldn’t have asked for a more welcoming setting for our Fashion Event with our special guests!

Our stylists and guests dined on a wide range of dishes from spicy tuna, to seabass sashimi, to beef dumplings. Each dish was beautifully presented and our guests were able to sample ROKA’s varied dishes all in our own private dining room.

“We wanted a stylish and welcoming location for our Fashion Lunch and ROKA proved to have everything we needed and more” – Khushbu, UAE Manager

Dubai Designers

Two talented designers joined us for our Fashion Lunch, Amal Mounji from AMANJI and Kira from Kira Stolbova Dubai.

Amal showcased a selection of blazers from her collection inspired by her and her colleagues needs to find unique tailored items for women.

AMANJI is a luxury Womenswear brand focused on blazers and blazer dresses designed for women to reveal their elegance through sophisticated, refined, and chic looks.

Kira bought along some of the best sellers from her range which included a shorts suit in satin and a very popular marabout trimmed satin wrap blouse.

Supporting Women

According to the World Economic Forum’s 2020 Global Gender Gap Report, the UAE has reached equality between men and women in educational attainment. Official figures show that 95% of female high school graduates go on to pursue higher education (compared with 80 percent of the male students).

Yet, only 14% of regional investments in start-ups across the MENA region in 2018 were with start-ups founded by women.

“It’s vital to understand how, as a society, we can encourage women with an Entrepreneurial spirit to pursue being a job creator rather than a job holder” – Elin Mai, CEO

With a table full of women, each with their own ideas and knowledge to share, the conversations were informative and inspiring.

Style Doctors is always open to connecting with female led businesses. With a large team of creatives, our team can potentially help make your idea a reality!
